Moments like these

Long grass blowing in the breeze as the wind picks up.
Up above, a kite so high, it too could take me with it.
One hard, heavy lean right and the kite soars through the thickness of the clouds and the weight is lifted off of me as it glides left within the wind.
This moment feels like a dream
The sun lathering my skin as every hair spikes in the chilliness of the cold.
A smaller kite behind me and a small laugh of a young age
Not only mine, but my families

MEMORIES

Memories are a sweet as melodies,
a gift to share a moment.
The scent of blissful happiness,
A way to mend what is now broken.

When we have nothing to behold right now,
The memories don't vanish away.
Lying in the long, yellow grass,
Everything will be okay.

A safe home doesn't exist,
though these moments do.
There's nothing to miss more,
than being next to you.

People pass away,
people live to strive.
Though nothing humbles me enough,
to wish you were alive

You passed along with the old me,
because without you I'm not the same.
You were my everlasting melody,
the voice of the songs I play.

Your smile so imperfectly perfect,
your illness so sadly pure.
It seems that within the darkness,
your death felt to you, like a cure.

A loss of ever lasting,
memories never make it fade.
There's nothing I would ever do,
to take these moments away.

The grass evergreen,
and the scent far from faint.
These are the feelings,
of my homely days.
